I signed up for another Online Card Class so my sister and I could spend some more trans Atlantic creative time together. With the time difference and Canada and Europe springing forward on different dates we did not quite manage as much creative time as hoped, but I signed up at her suggestion and am really glad I did as it was a great class with lots of guidance and ideas for both card making and scrap booking. However I apologise for the blue tone of the photos... I bought a photo box to enhance the photos of my layouts and cards... obviously I still have to figure out how to make the 'enhancement' work!!
The first day's lesson was basic ideas on how to work with patterns - mixing scale, colour, amounts, etc. and I created several cards using the approaches shared.
The first card uses a cute dinosaur and asentiment stamp from Paper Smooches and a sweet diecut cupcake from Cottage Cutz all backed with a Spellbinders die. I am also sharing a close up of the dino, which was coloured with Copics, because he is so sweet! I also put a layer of velum over the cupcake base and it really looks like it has a cupcake liner on it. The patterned paper is from a MME 6x6 pad and consists of scraps left over from a scrapbook layout as I have been trying to create a card with the scraps from my scrapbook pages right away... as otherwise they pile up and I end up drowning in them LOL!!
The second card also uses a stamped image and sentiment from Paper Smooches, although a slightly different season LOL! ...this lovely paper is from BoBunny and I paper pieced the snowman using the same papers.
The final card uses an adorable diecut from Cottage Cutz. The original had a heard hanging from the tail, but I added a cute tag using a Papertrey Ink die and sentiment to make it Easter appropriate. The cat is diecut from a neutral patterned paper from the same MME paper pad as the background and then shaded with Copic markers. TFL!
